Hi, Adam Desforges I spoke to one of my colleagues out in the field and he said a company he visited last week has replaced using toluene with Mythel Ether Ketone (MEK), although he did say he was'nt sure if it harsh enough to tackify the material though. Also, I'm not sure if you've seen this leaflet (attached) before but one of my colleagues in eneviormnetal policy thought it would be good to share with you. Thanks Amy

Hello Everyone, We are looking at launching an external campaign to bring more members to the EEF Network. We want to keep growing this fantastic community so you are able to forge connections with an even wider variety of UK manufactures. We are testing different messages for our purpose statement and we want to hear your thoughts about the option below: The proposed purpose statement that describes what/who the Network is and the aim sets out what we want to achieve as a community.

Hello Everyone, I wanted to share this event with you as I thought it may be of interest to those based in the North West. EEF's Brexit Roadshow will be coming to Manchester on 26th October. As Brexit negotiations reach their climax, EEF are hosting a series of road show events titled: Making Brexit Work – Preparing Manufacturers for Brexit The day will focus on the impact of Brexit in the North West of England, and is one of a series of events taking place across the country as part of a Brexit Roadshow, where we will be providing manufacturers with expert insight and practical...

Hi Clare Wortley, I spoke to one of our EEF experts in business improvements and he recommended perhaps you look at Standard Work, a commonly used LEAN tool. Standard work is similar to operating procedures in that it defines a process but goes further in defining inputs, outputs, quality criteria and the time and resources required to complete the activity. People can then be confirmed as working to the standard to ensure effectiveness. There’s loads more information here If you wanted I could connect you with...

Hi Chris Brown, Thanks for your post, what an interesting topic! It would be fantastic to hear what others are doing. The Office for National Statistics regularly publishes data that shows the changing nature of the workforce. We are all aware that the UK's population is ageing so people may need to work for longer than they have done in previous generations. Making this an ever more important topic for employers across the UK. I encourage others to share their experiences :) Amy
