Please share your ideas on this thought for the day - How do you communicate within your manufacturing business? Do your staff understand where you are going as a business and do they feel informed? How often to you communicate with all staff? If you operate across different plants and locations do staff ever get the chance to meet and understand what other business units do? Let us hear your thoughts on this - share best practice so other manufacturers can benefit from your insights. We look forward to hearing your replies.

The series started with Siemens - making digitalisation a reality for the UK...

As negotiations on the future of UK participation in the current EU R&D programme Horizon 2020, its successor Horizon Europe and future programmes continue, the draft Withdrawal Agreement envisages that existing projects including Horizon 2020 will continue to receive EU funding for the lifetime of the project and continue to bid for projects. However, if an agreement cannot be made, the government has committed to underwrite funding for all successful UK bids for EU programmes including Horizon 2020 submitted before the UK’s departure from the EU, for the lifetime of the projects, even...

Hi Laura McBrown I asked a company that does printing for their advice on this question and they came back with a couple of points. 1. If they are printing serial/batch number and it needs to change for each unit then they need a digital printer. Screen printing could work if the serial/batch number is consistent for every unit within the batch. 2. If the sleeve is a curved surface then that will add to the complexity because of the additional image processing required. Best regards,
